Season of the Snow Serpent
Year of the Dragon
The monks tell me that the gates are proving unstable. As the barriers fail, the five elemental gates try to reform into a single focus. The original spell bent time and space by forcing five dimensions apart into seperate threads, from which the barriers where woven. The trick then is to use 'one' of these threads like a rope, sending someone along it to a point on the surface of the normal world, without causing the energies to unravel. This would twist anything holding onto that 'rope' into a pretzel and cause the five seperate threads to rejoin too soon, without control or direction.
If that happened, not only would I never make it to my destination, or anyplace else, but our village would be thrown out into the normal universe in some completely random place. It might not even end up on the original world, but on some random one, or by itself in the vast sea of space. As I said once before, I seriously question the sanity of those who discovered the means to form the gates in the first place. To take my mind off of the contemplation of this potential disaster, I will spend what time I have, before they think they are ready, describing our village, the temple and people there in within the next few pages. I just hope that when they are done fiddling with the gates, I will survive the trip. Otherwise, there won't have been much point to this journal.
