18th. Day
Season of the Snow Serpent
Year of the Dragon

I followed my quarry for two days, foraging what food I can as I moved silently along behind. On several occations I thought that perhaps he had spotted me, but it appears I kept myself well hidden, not an easy task, since once we left the forest, there was little more than tall grass to hide me. Being white furred at a time like this is not a good thing.

I could see in the distance at one point what appeared to be stone walls, but since the individual I followed ignored them, so did I. Towards the end of the first day, he stopped to camp near the bridge crossing a river. I sat all night, cold and somewhat hungry, staring at the faint flicker of light from his campfire in the distance, but knowing nothing of the people here, I wasn't willing to risk approaching, as inviting as it may have appeared. Sometime during the night I fell asleep, despite my resolve to remain awake and continue following.

The next morning I awoke, stiff and uncomfortable among the grass. After a moment of confusion I remembered what I was doing and with a little less caughtion than I should have, sprang to my feet to see if my guide was still there. The camp was abandonned though and the ashes when I checked cold. I was now not only lost in a strange land, but had no idea which way to go. I decided that since my missing guide had likely crossed the bridge, I would do so as well and follow the road, if sightly off the path, in order to stay hidden.
